Quentin Rondepierre

Co-founder & Chief Technical Officer

Could you briefly introduce yourself ?

Today, we're pleased to spotlight Quentin Rondepierre, our Chief Technology Officer. Learn more about his journey.

Je m’appelle Quentin Rondepierre. J’ai 29 ans, et je suis co-fondateur et directeur technique chez Hubup.

Tell us about your career path ?

After earning a science-focused high school diploma at Lycée Blaise Pascal in Brie-Comte-Robert and completing preparatory classes in Fontainebleau, I was admitted to École des Mines in Nantes, now known as IMT Atlantique.

That’s actually where I met my three partners Eric, Cyprien, and Antoine during high school and prep school.

I graduated with an engineering degree in late 2015, specializing in energy — a field quite far from public transport. Shortly after, Eric invited me to join the Hubup project, marking the beginning of our journey in early 2016.

Can you describe your role at Hubup ?

At Hubup, I serve as Chief Technology Officer. My day-to-day responsibilities are diverse and can be divided into three main areas.

First, I help design and contribute to the drafting of technical and functional specifications at the early stages of projects.

Second, I’m involved in development, where I’m responsible for the front-end implementation and mobile applications.

Lastly, I manage the technical team which means assigning tasks, coordinating efforts, and ensuring that our projects are delivered on time and meet our quality standards.

What are you most proud of at Hubup ?

I think what I’m most proud of at Hubup is having supported and helped our technical team grow as new members joined us. Today, I’m surrounded by skilled, autonomous developers who take real initiative.

That said, I also have a personal point of pride in having developed version 2 of our Geolite app a project into which I poured a great deal of energy and personal commitment.

What is your vision for Hubup in 5 years ?

Five years is a long time for a company that’s only seven years old! But if I had to imagine where we’re headed, I’d say we’ll have significantly strengthened our position in the public transport information systems sector in France. There are countless opportunities ahead, with much still to be done in terms of market development, customer needs, and product innovation.

I also believe we’ll have considerably expanded our international presence. Right now, we're active in the UK, Canada, and other French-speaking countries but this is just the beginning. Our international growth is set to accelerate in the coming years.

Naturally, the team will grow and evolve, but what I truly hope won’t change are the values that define us: our close relationships with clients, our responsiveness, and the positive, friendly atmosphere that makes Hubup such a great place to work.

What’s a hidden talent or passion of yours ?

I’m a fan of hard rock and metal, and I play guitar modestly, but with passion. Outside of work, there’s a good chance you might spot me at Hellfest, dressed head to toe in black, of course !
